Hey guys, well those of you who read the main forums will be seeing my pictures of the ****s that set my Freelander V6 ES on FIRE 2 nights ago, until then lets be totally honest about the Freelander

1. If you drive all day at 80mph buy a V6 or you will just kill it.
2. It is the best in it's class for off road ability (soft-road class).
3. It will not however touch my Series IIA off road.
4. It does offer imense comfort and easy driving.
5. It is far more refined on road but the trade off is low ground clearance.
6. It has a terrible reputation due k-series engines.
7. It is only available in TD4 now..... What does that tell you (other people can make engines other than Rover)
8. The V6 engine in the Freelander produces nearly the same power as 3.9 V8 Discovery
9. It will go further off road than you think, however no LOW box or Diff Lock.
10. Finally they have been used too much for the school run, too make them look like a "REAL" LAnd Rover.

No i dont disagree at all Treeve, sorry to hear bout your motor mate, , , are you now a tractor boy, and did you get a free pig for the back,think thats a standard fit. . .:)
 
Least ya can train them. . .think the porky pig was an early type sat nav fitted to them there tractors, one grunt right ,two left ,squeel straight ahead. . . .oink :)

i have never proffessed to go offroading and getting my disco covered in mud.it is used for a specific task and with 200,000 yes thats right 200,000 miles on the clock it proves that it does it very well. like ming said, its only a bit of banter but i would like to see a freelander with 200,000 miles on the original engine;)
 
200,000 miles in a Petrol Freelander.....

I doubt it.

200,000 miles in a Diesel Freelander....

Possibly?

I have seen one with 135,000 miles on the clock still original engine.

Well fair play to ya yello mate, yes i'm doing quite well wiv ma diesel, but doubt if i could touch that. . .:)

Thank goodness there are still some genuine Land Rover folk on this site.

Sorry to hear about the V6, but youv'e got the next best thing, drove loads of them during my army days in the 60's.
 
Give us time Yella Disco man, mine has the BMW engine and is doing ok, used every day for all sorts of stuff, (no school runs, kids have own cars now) and all types of driving, service it myself and can't see why it shouldn't reach your kind of mileage.
 
Dear Vossie, this is the Freelander forum, it only talks about Freelanders, the site has other forums for Discoverys,Range Rovers,Defenders,etc etc.

If you want to comment on other vehicles then you'd be better off looking elsewhere. We all have the vehicles we want, don't see much else on the market. Try an American site.:cool:

I'm in a workshop all day so i am used to plenty of banter, but it makes a change to have a proper talk on the subject of Landys without being mocked for having a hobby.
Other 4x4's, are you mad??????? I just tell others p**s off.
 
never mind awe your banter, all i want to no is, is the ld freelander td4 2.0 worth buying, 2003 3dr hardback, 10,000
