Fancy doing some "soft" offroading

I fancy going to play in the mud with the P38 but in all honesty I haven't a clue. I can't go to nuts, what I play with at the weekend has to work on Monday. Basically it's a stock car with some General grabbers fitted to the 18" rims. The car is a working car and not a Chelsea tractor so I'm not bothered about the odd mark. So where do I start? does anybody go out in around Southampton / Salisbury area doing the less extreme off roading? I've got Muddy Bottom (I was mud wrestling you know how it is) not far from me but it always looks quite full on if I'm honest. To date most of off road driving consist of dragging a horse box around the many fields, farms. Done plenty of track days etc and even did some sealed surface rallying in the past but getting dirty I'd rather have a brew

I know what you mean - sometimes it's just good fun going where a normal 2wd car would get stuck, or even destroy itself!
I've been amazed in my short time of owning a Disco 2 at what the stock car can do

doz i went out on the salisbury trip many months back stock d2 road tires, had a great day on plains but did believe series 71 that he wasn't going to do anything to mad. Still got mud on my carpet but what a great day, even "it is mine!", had to go threw that big puddle can i do it can i again again again.

Join the SAD Landrover club. They meet at the St John Barleycord at Cadnam on the second Tuesday of the month (I think). They have green laning and off road course events, many of which I have attended with a stock D1.
If you would like some fairly easy lanes to follow, go to the Salisbury race course and follow the byway. It goes almost all the way to Shaftsbury.

I've had my Defender 90 since the end of July and spent the last few months re-building it and adding stuff I wanted. I did an off road course in a disco 18 years ago at the Army barracks as part of my job but never used it since then. Anyway there were a couple of roads near my house that you can see on google maps satellite view but both say unsuitable for motors. Well they were not unsuitable for the Landy I absolutely loved it Anyway if you are looking for "easy" off road things to try why not do what I did and have a look locally on google maps......
