Has anyone out there got a D2 facelift with factory Centre Diff Lock?

if so can you pm your reg so i can compare on microcat and see if my soon to be purchased car has this also?

videoman, may i have your original reg(not any private plate) for microcat so i can compare with the one im getting.


when i drove it it had the sticker but i couldnt engage it, hence be wanting to know the difinitive answer. obviously i didnt have time to strip the thing down. its not much of a bother if it hasnt but its the not knowing that annoys me

Some have the sticker,more important is whats on the transfer box lever.

Lots of Facelift D2,s had the sticker showing CDL operation on the centre consol, but no diff lock internals in the transfer box. I predict that your car will be the same.
IF you had the cdl function embossed on the transfer box gear lever then theres a good chance that you have the diff lock lever and transfer box. But if its just got H-N-L on the knob then you not only will need to get the lever assembly but also fit a diff lock enabled transfer box. ( which is what I had to do ).

No doubt the scam of changing the selector knob still exists, as it did to up' the value of cars with a 4 speed gearbox by fitting the knob from a later model which was a 5 speed.
If so what is engraved on the knob transfer box is not a good guide to it's operation.

Also only the ES and ES Premium models had diff lock as standard the rest it was an option.

I believe it's es and possibly the premium, I will check on microcat, I've looked at the reg that I received via pm(thankyou) but can't see anything to indicate CDL fitting. So I spouse time will tell!! I'm picking it up Monday so will have the answer by Tuesday at least!

Fingers crossed !. Be great if it has the cdl and the cable and mech just needs freeing up.
