Not been on for a long time but just bought another facelift td4 with some small faults just wondering if
anyone has any idea or experience with faulty heater control it was working fine on1 to 4 setting and now nothing, fuses are fine but also can hear a clicking noise behind bottom of centre console passengers side
Thanks in advance

The heater fan motor is powered by the switch via a resistor block in the heater housing for speeds 1 to 3. Speed 4 is powered via a relay, which is switched on by the fan control switch. As least that's how I remember it working. It's been many years since I've had to diagnose fan issues on a FL1.

Cheers, I've been told it cant be the resistor at fault because none of the settings are working and usually 1 setting will still work if the resistor is caput

That's generally true, as speed setting 4 bypasses the resistor block altogether.

All sorted out , I was reading some old post regarding the heater issues o the freelander and came across a post from @santefe999 who had a issue with the wire connection for the heater near the clutch pedal , low and behold mine had come loose cleaned and put back on now working fine on all settings😁😁
