Extra cig lighters

I'm looking at fitting 2 extra lighters to the dash of the Disco. Somewhere near the rhs of the steering wheel.

2 questions really.

Is there enough room under that corner to fit them? If not where?
Could i piggy back the existing lighter wiring or would i have to put a whole new line in?

Yea just piggy back them off original lighter.

There should be room anywhere you want fit them. Try them before you wire

Will do.

Nothing of serious power will going through them. Only a fm transmitter for music and phone charger.

My hope is to have my old phone in a holder on the screen and both things plugged in.

No serious power.most plug ins are that low so it wouldnt matter

I ran a new line off an always-on fused 20A line (used appropriate gauge wire etc blah blah) to feed new sockets at back and front. Really easy to do, feeding the wire behind the dash was ok via the drop down panel under the wheel. No problems with room to put the sockets.

instead of a cig lighter, it might be better to stick a fixed usb charger in, esp if it's for a phone.

get a decent 2 amp one known to work with cr-apple stuff

Already bought 2 new sockets and the wiring. Forgot the fuse holders.

ah right, i was thinking along the lines of.. not sure if you can use normal 12v in a marine one :shrug:

That's what i have got fitted in mine. Was about to do a link but was beaten to it.

Will get a pic up in the day of where i have placed it

so will normal cig lighter bobbins fit in the marine 12v thingy, as it seems to have some plastic 'lock'
