External Volt Regulator

I fitted a 2.8 Daihatsu to my series 3 . i HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE EXTERNAL volt regulator.

1. Its a 6 pin connection

1a. I have w white and red wire which is connected brings power from ignition

2a, I have a yellow not connected - when engine is turning over no power in this connection

3a, I have a blue wire not connected when engine is on idle 12v in this cable,

My alternator is not charging and these are the only 2 cables not connected

Could do with advice if possible.

Is the red ignition light on with the key on but engine not running? Does it go out when the engine runs?

I have this, not a clue which of my Landies it was for, had a 2A and two Series III's, if it helps, good luck

What type of alternator do you have?
