Hello,

Just replaced both air bags and one height sensor (other replaced by LR garage within last twelve months) on my 02 Disco. Easy to fit and everything works great except when I press the extended height button, it chimes constantly and the light flashes but does not bring the compressor on.

Any ideas before I get LR to plug their diagnostics in?

Thanks in advance.

Extended height will only work with the engine running and all the doors closed.

As you have replaced the height sensor,I take it the old 1 was faulty. Has the fault code been cleared from the ECU memory? If it has not,the extended height will not work.
Also the height sensors have to be calibrated so the car sits level.

Thanks Dave, I have assumed the door interlocks are working correctly because the usual air suspension lifts operate as normal, I have done all of my tests through an open window. I decided to replace the height sensor because it looked original and the plastic 'eye' had split where it bolts onto the suspension arm. Changing it has not made any difference to the fault.

I don't have the electronics to clear the ECU which is what I am suspecting to be the issue, will book it into my LR dealer.

Thanks again.

Hi Chatty,

Had the same myself, the constant chiming could indicate that the car doesn't think it's level to start with.. Had to change both sensors and have mine recalibrated .. knew something was up because measuring hub to wheel arch on both sides there was consistently a couple of cms differences.. don't know what yours is like?

Best of luck

What an absolute d'ck I am, I was pressing the wrong flaming button, so don't know if I had a problem or not.
However since it was 'calibrated' it now sits uneven with 1 1/2" difference between the two sides. Will be going back to LR asap.
