Hello guys, one year ago i wrote here, situation was with defective genuine coolant expansion tanks from Rimmer Bros. Genuine tanks were bad welded, they just splits when coolant reach normal working temperature and pressure. Then i just ordered aftermarket one. I drove 5.000km with aftermarket expansion tank. Yesterday i noticed crack on it again- not welding line, but as always, near cap.

Where i could get normal reliable tank?
I found "EIS" marked tank at eurocarparts, somebody tried?

It's pretty normal for them to crack. There's a theory that a VW polo tank will work with suitable pipework adaptation and will last much longer and have a higher pressure cap.

Hm, maube i will try to install tank from Rover 25. Seems good and strong. Today will see how to make adapter for install.

Buy a coolant reservoir from a LR main dealer so you know it's genuine. Buying one from a third party company doesn't always mean a genuine part is LR genuine. It could be a genuine alternative. A genuine replacement... Or genuinely damaged int post.

OK, tomorrow will try to make adapter for tank from Rover 25, if trying will be succesful- will post some images. If i will see that it is bad idea- will order LR tank. But, not from Rimmer Bros anymore.

Is there a difference int coolant level from old to new tank? The actual height oft the floor.

Does the new tank have the same psi cap pressure?

Nice job! When I next need to replace the tank, I’ll fit the VW one I bought (but have squirrelled away somewhere “safe” - oops!!!)
