Hey! been a while all but I am stumped on this one!

I have a 1999/2000 1.8K where I replaced the engine with that came a new exhaust downpipe that includes the flex pipe however it is rubbing on the IRD pinion when trying to drive because it is not bolted up where it used to (To the IRD Pinion) I have highlighted the bracket in this image:

There are 2 holes on this one and it sits much further back but when searching for this part is is all out of stock or costs like £450 The only ones that are in stock are these:

They use that little plate that has a nut welded on it, which DOES NOT fit my car anywhere...

I call upon anyone to have a look and see if it is the same for yours and whether anyone has any spares that would fit my car The welded nut version is what is installed on my car the Exact PN is EST4069 but it seems this is used fairly freely...

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Did your replacement engine (it reads like you changed the engine) come from a Freelander, or another Rover vehicle? When the K series is fitted in the Freelander, the installation is similar to other Rover vehicle installations, but not identical, so some ancillary components aren't the same, the exhaust being one of several differences.

Thanks for the reply, @andyfreelandy may be able to tell you exactly what car the engine came from however I'll provide some more context.

Before the engine replacement I was replacing the gearbox  I know... I was following a workshop manual to remove the gearbox which said I needed to remove the exhaust before just dropping the subframe which I couldn't as the bolts were too far gone so it was cut out of the way (Bad Idea I know now) so I ordered a replacement part but the replacement is what is there now with the welded nut that does not even reach the IRD Pinion so cannot bolt onto it, when replacing the exhaust the only part replaced was the downpipe to cat area from the headers.

I hope that helps explain. After that fiasco the engine blew up so... never got to drive with the new exhaust and finally getting back around to it now the car drives. I can't see anything for that welded nut to be attached to...

The engine you had from a 2004 Freelander.
It didn't have an exhaust manifold or pipe fitted as I recall !!
No no, you are right 😂 it's the replacement part I bought that doesn't fit, just trying to find the correct part, I don't suppose you have any 1.8 FL's with the exhaust still on it?

Can show you my 2003 1.8 set up with a 2 bolt manifold join to exhaust arrangement
No I don't have have the 2 hole manifold one, I've the 4 hole one, I chose to use my old one because I figured it would fit the frame more than the engine... The issue isn't where the downpipe attaches to the headers it closer to where the down pipe attaches to the cat. but I have the 4 bolt dual pipe early exhaust fitted, could I get new headers and exhaust and fit the new one?

I'm working on 'er again this weekend I'll see if I can snap some pics to show you what and where I mean because it is stumping me 😂

I've got this off a 2001 K Series that I've listed a couple of times of TradeMe for $50 and haven't been able to sell.

Hmm, that looks even more different 😂 super confused by the exhaust system on this car, I'd like to get a look at the underside of that thing but wouldn't expect you to be getting under it! If you were in the UK I would've snagged that from you yesterday for $50!!!

lol.

Have to say, when I listed it, I wanted to say what years it would fit, but all the Google image searches seemed to show different setups. All I could determine was that it only fit the 2 bolt flange (so early K's definitely not) - but there might be different variants with the 2 bolt flange.
