Exhaust on Freelander 1

Just to prove a point, Here's mine taken off today (not before time) 2001 ES TD4

The TD4 actually got either a single outlet or twin outlets from the factory. The twin outlets back box is actually the same part as was fitted to the V6. The TD4 was supposed to have a single outlet back box. However depending on factory stock, it got either on the production line. It makes no difference as to what box you have, but the twin outlets box has a slightly deeper exhaust note, nothing more.
Don't worry about it, just use it ;)
 
Hi, i presume they have told you this because it has twin tail pipes ,if so the original td4 boxes were twin tail pipe so i wouldnt worry about it to much

New side steps just arrived, will be fitting them over the week-end. Should look good.

Nope. One wheel up test is there to gauge the stiffness of the Freelanders Viscose Coupling or VCU as it's known.
If these start to get to stiff, it will seriously damage the 4 wheel drive system. See links below and have a good read.

I've been wanting to change it for a while so I decided to change it along with the fuel tank cradle and the prop shaft bearings. Got the new cradle on, killed a bit of rust, new bearings on the prop, but stuck now due to the rain. When (if) it clears up lick of paint, prop and rear exhaust then book the MOT
