Will be able to start changing the head gasket in the next week or so - just have a few things to resolve.

I understand you can take the cylinder head off without removing the intake manifold and/or the exhaust manifold - though it does make it a lot heavier and difficult to lift off for two people. I've decided therefore to remove both the exhaust manifold and inlet manifold - gives me a chance to clean the inside of the inlet manifold.

Now the inlet manifold and exhaust manifold have never been off since the vehicle was new. So, when I put them back on (apart from new gaskets), do I need to use new studs and flanged nuts for the exhaust manifold and new bolts for the intake manifold, or can I re-use the old ones?

Any suggestions/tips?

Hi i would use new stud's and nut's on exhaust and intake manifolds as you've already going to do the head gasket and clean up it would make sense also if they have to be removed in the future makes your life easier no striped or broken stud's

The very best of luck with this.
Do hope you don't snap any exhaust studs.
Once off I'd check the exhaust manifold isn't warped and even if it isn't I'd cut away all the webbing between each branch to ensure it doesn't warp in the future. And do put some copaslip or something on all the threads before reassembly.
Many, including me, have had the manifold warp. It then squeaked like a slipping auxiliary belt. Some of the studs had disappeared, some were broken off below the surface of the head. So a lot of drilling out then occurred including drilling oversize then rethreading the holes. Also then had to drill out the holes in the manifold to accept the new bolts or studs.
A whole mess of pain.
It might be easier for you to simply take off the inlet manifold!!;)
