Series 3 Exhaust bracket locations

Afternoon campers.
Trying to fit a new exhaust to Noel.
It's a ****part exhaust (temporary measure, it was cheap!) fitted on to a Richards galvanized chassis.

Ive worked out the bracket locations for the rear

Update:
The new chassis is missing a bracket.

As highlighted on photos of the old chassis

I've just done some checking. My Richards' Lightweight chassis only has the back right and the one over the back axle on the left. My 'taking it all apart pictures are from the wrong side and I can't see whether it had one originally. I do dimly recall having a bracket too many with my new exhaust. So, possibly in the same boat as you.

I will say though that it doesn't really seem to need it.

The Richards series 3 lwb chassis I bought doesn't have the bracket for the intermediate pipe.
However, their series 2 lwb chassis on their website does!
Mine is definitely a S3 (prefix N)
My original chassis, in the photo, did have the bracket.
The exhaust is definitely the correct one for the year and model.

I'm kicking myself for not keeping what was left of the old chassis, but I had nowhere to keep it.

If you do have the dims of the bracket, that would be very much appreciated.
Plan would be to add a flat plate and self tap screw or rivnut to the chassis rather than weld.

I've fitted the exhaust without the intermediate bracket, but it is not 100% secure in my mind.👍

I gave it a wiggle earlier and it's a lot better supported than either of my motre modern cars.

That said, it's just occurred to me that this may possibly have something to do with a problem I had for a few months after the rebuild. A really annoying scratching sound, something like a piece of welding rod against the other side of the bulkhead. Drove me mad trying to find it but when I was changing gearbox oil I knocked the exhaust - that was it. The joint in the pipes was creaking as it wobbled and it didn't seem to tighten fully. Solved it by putting in one of those crushed steel wool things other cars use, but I'm now wondering if it would have been just about ok with more support. Dunno.
 
Looks like someone at Richards Chassis had a brainstorm, and nobody checked their work afterwards.
I think at the very least, they owe you a bracket, and a fixing system for it.
I'd be using rivnuts myself, at least 4 x 8mm to be safe

To be fair, I looked at the pictures on Richards chassis and the only one with the bracket is the s2 chassis.
The S3 chassis on their site doesn't show it.
But, why did my old chassis have it and why did the new exhaust come with the support to mount to that bracket?! 😁

I think that the definitive answer has to lie within the official LR S3 parts catalogue.
If it shows, or lists three mounting points, with the associated hardware, you've got a case to complain IMHO.
 
Parts catalogue picture is drawn so that you can't see that side of the left rail

The exhaust drawing shows only one support for the intermediate pipe (over the axle), but the 109 ets an extra at the junction with the front pipe.

1981 chassis

From no 5 crossmember bracket tapers full depth of chassis at back

3 1/2 inches at top
3 1/4 inches at bottom

At front is only 1 1/4 deep.

And is 7 7/8 from crossmember.

Bracket flat is 1 1/2 inches from chassis

Bracket depth is 3 1/4 inches

Two steel dowels protrude in total about 3 inches from face of chassis.

It's a hand brake bracket.
