I have no issue with porn etc, but can understand that some peeps don't approve. Is there any software that can be downloaded to filter out images that people do not want to see on their pc?
 
Hmm. I think the ones that are moaning that someone has posted a complaint/concern etc in the Anything Goes section is a bit daft. You can't defend the right to post porn, but also oppose to people complaining about it surely?

Personally I don't see the point in posting porn for porns sake...but apart from the recent posts, I don't think it is at the stage where something needs to be done about it, if that makes sense.

As a newbie I have been browsing the forum to get an idea of how things work here. The Anything Goes section holds absolutely no surprises at all and includes fair warning as to the likely content. I do not see the need to change anything at all.

I think that although the level of porn has increased, it is still within the bounds of what can be described as 'soft' porn. I'm guilty of posting my share...but I try to keep it within the 'Anything Goes' section, which has as has been said, a disclaimer.

I wouldn't go into that section when i've got my son with me and I think its the individuals responsibility to decide which section they browse to avoid any embarassment or offence they feel may be caused.

Generally the language used in every section could be deemed objectionable, but thats the nature of the forum and it can't be changed without the spirit and humour being lost.

It can't be my responsibility what other people find offensive as long as my posts are within the law. If we start saying 'this is allowed but not that' then I feel the forum would be mundane and boring as many others are.

As said, I'll keep my adult content within the Anything Goes section where it belongs and where it's currently, in my opinion, correctly allowed.

That is one of the problems - it isnt anything goes. By definition - Fanatic, i think said "no kiddy porn" - that is him imposing his own rules! Now, I dont disagree with that, and most others wouldnt. But as other forums have found (no digs here), you cant have a totally uncontrolled, post anything forum, otherwise it reduces to the lowest common denominator.
As I have already said, porn, persay is not necessarily the problem here. I would also suggest that "Anything goes" does not mean "Porn/Violence/Abuse/Illegal" either. There are lots of threads within "Anything goes" that have nothing to do with porn, but have everything to do with an open uncensored discussion. We have threads about (medically) sick relatives, people in financial trouble, peeps asking for advice on all manner of subjects. The problem seems to be related to being surprised by unexpected content.
Maybe what is needed is some form of identifier if NSFW content is posted. That does give a problem if it is posted within the context of another thread, however. Not sure how easily that could be monitored or policed. The easy answer would be not to post any. Posting links would reduce the risk of something "popping up" in front of a minor, or the boss. It would also mean that some threads which are currently stopped by filters could still be seen.

Or just ban Fanatic ;).

I take responsibility for promote discussion and hope my postings de sanitise the tendency of uk news etc to whitewash some appalling events eg. War.

I do help people with their problems regarding vehicles.

I think that viewer discretion is advised and if the viewer feels that my postings are unsuitable-use the ignore feature:D.

My postings do create a reaction, but that is what stops the mindless dead society we have happening here
