Evoque shunt into gear

A gearbox service wouldn't harm at that mileage.
The amount of car makers saying that "modern autobox don't need the oil changing" for some reason turn out to say "but should be done at xx.xxx miles" get it serviced to help it survive. The auto box is a living gearbox that rubs and heats parts and needs good healthy oil to lube and protect those expensive parts. A service is cheaper than a replacement box!!!
;)

Hi all, just thought I’d update

so I took it for a service a few months ago and he told me it didn’t need a Transmission Software Update although I asked him to do one.

So I have now taken it for the Update... and it’s soooo much better now. Done approx 500 miles since and it’s not jerked once !
The original brake switch fault didn’t come back...

They don’t like it when you know better than them :D
Got that right haha , although he said the service was £300 plus £60 for update , then it came to £360 without an update.
And when asked the update was £60 , when I came to pay it was £120
Still it’s all logged on the Landrover service history wotzit and it was half the price of Land Rover so can’t complain, the guys are pretty spot on to be fair , just a shame I knew my fault ‍♂️ haha

Only the Jerk you left at the garage

Hi all, Newbie here from Manchester Uk!

We have a 2013 Evoque SD4 Dynamic..

Problem !!!
When it is at full temp and it has been sat idling , like in traffic or stationary with the engine running and in D “Drive”... as you let the brake off it bangs into drive, feels like we have had a shunt in the backend...
If we put it in Park at lights etc then back to D on the Green traffic light it is smooth again, but if left in D it will go with big heavy jerk...
It’s fine when cold, fine when it is left in park.. only does it at full temp whilst sat idling.
When I let the brake off even it I do it really slow, it’s like when the brake taillights go off it is an instant bang into gear if that make sense !

can anyone give any advise as to what could be wrong?
I’ve done a transmission reset as in the manual but still the same. no lights on the dash.

Thanks Billy
