Bigger won't hurt. LR specify a 50Amp supplementary power supply, and not to rely on the battery for programming.
 
Hi I have been trying to get my head round JLR sdd I been having problems with my discovery 3 auto box I now trying to recode it back to the truck but I been told I need to put sdd into engineering mode but it comes up with the seed but don’t no where to get the code from any help would be great tony
 
Hi I been look for password generator for SDD v. 164 but can not find one any where the truck is in get me home mode has been for 8000 miles now

You can get one online at vehcom.com , just sign up for a free account. I can be a bit temperamental at times but it does work.

Edit: just tried the link and it doesn't work that way. Just type it in manually to your browser and it will work.
 
Hi I signed up and try it but just keeps coming up with fault put all right information into it do you no any others I could try and thanks I been at this for weeks

No I don’t know of any other free ones. It will work its just temperamental. Try logging out and back in again.

Hello, I have read every post in this thread. A big thank you for sharing your SDD knowledge with us! This is by far the most informative thread I have been able to find on this subject.

I am still trying to learn more before setting up a laptop…There are several things I still don’t understand.

1. My understanding is that I will need an active subscription TOPIX account and credentials in order to get into and download Engineering & calibration files. Is the Seed generator a workaround for this? My car is a 2014 Jaguar XKR 5.0

2. I have seen several posts stating that SDD versions beyond 139.08 have limited programming abilities?

“found version 139.08 to be better than 160 and 130. 130 is quite limited in terms of programming for example (still works but options missing)
160 has lots of functionalities removed. V139 is the sweet spot.” But for 160 you don't need the date to be backdated.”

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
 
Hi I got my SDD off eBay it’s v .163 I paid 40pound for it it works online and off line but I need the seed password to get in to the engineering part off it someone let me no where I can get it from and it works

I read that JLR version after V137 do not support offline programming, only online programming.
Q. Can I still do offline programming with SDD versions after V137 using calibration files that were previously saved to my laptop?
 
O am using it since version 160 and works both offline and online but you are better off downloading all calibration files (80GB) and as built data with the right patch which is included in the ISO I provided.
The only downside with 161 onwards is the fact that you cannot use download mode for example to program a fl2 cluster hack but that is unofficial anyway and only for experienced users.

In regards to engineering mode you need a seed calculator software. Hard to get (I paid 80 quid for it) these online ones don't work all the time won't accept the code. It's silent about that as well I mean it looks like it's accepting but the lower bar does not go yellow as it should.

I can do support/setup remote but not for free since this is taking my time which I don't have much these days.

HI guys haveing problem with JLR sdd i go to reprogram my discover 3 gearbox to the car and i click run and
get PAGMCP ACTICEX not compatible any ideas
 
It's not happy.. complaining functionality will be disabled if i don't update it.. are you supposed to keep rolling out back/reinstalling or didn't i install it properly?
