Hi to all,
i am struggling to understand the workings of garages following my recent visit; it is a garage that i have used for the last 4 years. i had a service and mot on my FL2 (2013) 2.2 TD4; one minor issue to be replaced but ultimately passed. However i was told that diagnostics had flagged a Maf sensor to be replaced.
The reason for this is that prior to taking the car to the garage a warning light came on the dash (red triangle with exclamation mark inside); presumed due to lack of power on acceleration, This was replaced but after leaving the garage and 2 miles into my journey the same warning light appeared on my dash.
I contacted the garage and was advised to bring the car back for further diagnostics. The result was to replace the mass airflow sensor (£225 without labour),
I agreed for this to be done (garage didn't charge labour) but i was told afterwards the turbo has gone but could be changed for £1300. I was also told that the car will work perfectly but not foot down acceleration.
To my horror the same warning light has appeared on the dash with the added (intermittent) engine management light on the dash.
Am i just having the worst of bad luck!!!
