Stu you working all week?
Not sure when next week, but wanna go during the day so we can get some good pictures.
Either do colchester, witham, then on to saffron waldon and violets lanes. Or instead go from colchester, through langham and dedham and then head north.
Don't fancy violets lane!
why not it looks great fun, I WILL be doing it soon.
If you do do it if theres been hevey rain you'll need a snorkel..... thinking about it if you follow chris into puddles you may need one, . and some breathers.
I up for a small trip one night next week.
.I don't have breathers, recovery points, snorkel or anything like that yet.
Well, I've got the recovery points to go on but haven't had time. Got to cut the bumper before anything.

The lanes we do you wont need breathers or snorkel , if by any chance it is to deep you can go around the water, tow bar ok for rear recovery and couple of jate rings on the front will be fine, if we are out and you get stuck some one will have recovery shackles and strop to pull you out if you have'nt got them yet. why you got to cut the bumper?
What tow rope would you recommend? I've got a jack, shackles, strop and spanners, etc in the Landy and would like to add a rope just incase. Needs to be more substantial than my halfrauds special I keep in the van :-D
I have two, a rope that 12T and 5m long, and a 4T strap that 6m long, all in all it personal preferance, I brought a Rope first, then the strap, The strap will roll up smaller. Keep the thin halfords one for towing cars, as no point in using the larger one.
Dont buy a kinetic rope unless you know how to use it... they can rip things apart...
Its handy to have one front and rear but not nessary but helps you from having to keep swaping fron front to rear. Also I perfer two shorter ones as no point in using a 12m one if you can use a 5m one.
Oh and keep them well mainatained, and clean, they will last longer, and dont drive over them. i put a small bit of copperslip on the shackle threads as well , just incase they are tight/bind with all the mud.
Have a look on ebay theres a few good ones on there.
