Looking doubtful for me. Currently in a very very hot office covering the phones.

Might get away after 4 but it's a 2 hour drive in rush hour and I am in my suit.

Unfortunately i'm gonna have to miss tonight lads. Drivers door is still stripped down and won't be getting the new arm till tomorrow evening.
Plus its late night shopping in colchester and i've got bugger all presents and no other time to get them lol.

Hi all,
My steering guard finally arrived today :D
Should have expected really, but no bolts supplied.
I do have a box of stainless bolts / washers from screwfix (item 89020).
But I'm presuming I should be using high tensile bolts (the guard has 2 recovery points included) otherwise not a lot of point in rated shackles and straps when I'm firing sheared bolts at the kind fella whose recovering me.
Or am I worrying about nothing?
Advice would be most welcome as i wanted to fit it tomorrow, ready for the 28th. If I'm correct about the high tensile bolts any ideas of a supplier in Colchester.
Thanks in advance,
Nick.

Nice trip out last night, thanks for the pizza Geoff, much apprectated.

did a few new lanes to me, even found one with virgin snow.....:D. cant wait untill the 28th now.....

Nick did you get the steering Guard done ok?

No....
All bolts bar one that need removing are removed. 90% of valance free. One end cap left to cut then up with the guard. Had to give up in the end as too dark, cold & the kids have gone hyper
I'm going to try and finish it before 10:00 tomorrow if not it will have to wait until the 27th. PLEASE don't let it be raining in the morning.
Thanks for your advice. I think i can now see where it all goes and the existing bolts all seem good - but you may still get a call!!!!

I know how much of a pain bolts can be...... I had truble with the water pump ones, the bumper ones I just cutt off and put new in.

And i know what kids are like I have 4. now getting near to xmas so hey are worse......

Hope you have more luck tommorrow.

Right the steering guard inc recovery points is on.
The jate rings on the back are not going well.
I have managed to sheer off the bolt head on the outside of one, but i have managed to remove the nut - not that thats a lot of use on its own!
I think they will now require heating or possibly drilling out - neither of which i am setup to do so this could be a trip to Mansfield Motors - which is closed until the 4th
In short - no recovery points on the back:mad:. Anyway round this (no tow bar fitted) is this a deal stopper for tomorrow?????

As long as you have them on the front you can be recovered, just means you wont be able to pull anyone out if needed, unlikely that you will need to be pulled out backwards. have you not got any part of the tow bar fitted.
