I went there on Saturday to have a look and was about a foot deep and was all shingle on the bottom. I don't have a snorkel installed yet but I wouldn't even need one. I have watched the YouTube videos of it and It is way too tempting after watching them.

Well all ill say is never do it alone! Ive checked you tube and it seems very easy in the middle when the tide is at its lowest, just not on the banks which looks very silty and deep which is what we saw when we went so presumed that was all the way over....

We are getting boring guys, nothing been happening on the forum lately;)
On another note thought I was ready to start the v8 last week until I pluged in the megasquirt, switched on the ignition and the ecu went up in smoke:eek: trying to figure out what I did wrong at the mo, will try and get some pics up soon, am dying to hear the 4.0 fire into life;)

Collecting brownie points to spend in the next 6 months ;)
My list;
Decking (Done)
Change carpet in bedroom(1/2 done)
Combi boiler
Multi fuel burner
Pitched roof on the porch
& maybe bathroom.

Hoping to have applied all the POR15 to the inside of mine this weekend.
Looks like gonna be on starter motor number 3 too. Another warranty claim there!

If anyone has one they no longer want I do want to put a carpet back in mine again to see what it's like.

Also gotta sort a rear arch which has developed a hole.
Oh and a osr window mech still.

I'm rearing my self up to do a bit more rust repair to the inner rear arches also .
fit a DIY rebuilt transfer box
And
Rework my winch bumper to take my new winch

Than get out and play in the mud

I have a tranny box that needs some work doing on it, what parts did you replace and how difficult was it

Been asked if both mine can be used for development work of some new products, so the 300 needs to have a bit more work this week so it can be transported to said place :)
Excited :)

I have a transfer box gasket and seal kit going free if it's any good to anyone.

I brought it because I thought my box was needing a rebuild but only used the main seal to gearbox in the end.

The kits are about £10 but the missing seal is cheap so might save someone a couple of quid.

To be honist it is really easy to work on you don't need any special tools apart from a brain and a good sence of feel. As you can't do the preloads precisely you need to do them by feel and set everything so there is a bit of drag on it not too tight but not too lose it's a bit trial and error and Time consuming but easy enough to do the rave manual has a step by step guide it's cost me 100 for the rebuild kit with high quality bearings ( don't skimp as it will bight you in the arse) and I upgraded the diff center to a Ashcroft hd pin while I was there wich is another 60 but well worth it IMO and is highly recommended by all the DIY ers so all in it's cost me 160+ cleaning + tea which is for a fully rebuilt box :)

as promised a wee pic of the 4.0 was hoping to have this started by now just waiting for the megasquirt ecu to come back and get this fired up,
v8 has had full rebuild bores honed, new rings, crank reground, new mains, big ends, new cam, lifters, timimg gear, arp head bolts, all bolted to a manual lt77s v8 gearbox, also went with the side exit strait through egg sauce like I had on the 200 tdi should sound good:)
