I was reading that earlier today and it does sound fun.

Jon your right that indentation on my rear diff is a hole.
I cleaned it and 48 hours later its leaking EP90 :(
Would a blob of weld hold? Seems pointless extending the breathers when the diff's got a hole in it.

Also, can someone reassure me this is join between gearbox and engine is normal. I remember Jonny's 200tdi fender filling it self with silt down violets lane. because the previous owner had fitted the donna 200tdi incorrectly to the gearbox.

A blob of weld will hold no problem, I would be tempted to use some aryldite or chemical metal though, even some silicone will do the job for now. The leak will be so insignificant I wouldnt worry to much

That looks just like mine, they dont mate as well as the 300's...

Have I missed much :D

Had a ****ty few months, did my back in back in August and was off work for 7 weeks then 2 weeks ago I severed a tendon in my hand :( No driving for me till Xmas :eek:

Landy is sitting on the drive, hasnt moved since July and waiting for some work to be done. Need to

Fill front diff, gearbox and transfer box with oil
Flush rear diff
Change rear wheel bearings
Change rear diff front seal
Change vac pump

:(
 
Love people that dick you around. Mate said he would buy my Disco and we came to an agreement on price which included me changing the head gasket. Bought full gasket kit and took the head to be skimmed and tested. Retrieved it and bolted it all back together and now he's dragging his heals and not turning up when planned.
