Went over to Violets yesterday, wasn't very deep at all, a non-snorkled Pajero went through so not much of a challenge. Dont a few oth the other lanes near stansted, found some more good ones. Whens everyone next doing a group laning session?

I have got the wheels ready for sale now aswell, forgot who had dibs on them though...

Me me me!

It is designed fror cold weather, helps the engine reach temperature, useful for when your wading and playing in mud as keeps the rad clean...

My fun for the past couple of hours has been continuing to prep my old chassis for galvanising.

After a few easy cutting jobs I moved on to this troublesome bolt:

Inner bush sleeve was seized solid to the bolt as was not budging. WD-40, pry-bars, hammer, blow torch, nothing would work.
So managed to find a hacksaw and after about half an hour and seriously cramped arms success!

And nearly ready to go, just a couple of last minute jobs to sort hopefully this week and it'll be off to make shiney!

Oh thats well smart with the rad muff is it recommended? also if you do not have an electric fan will there be a chance of overheating

Well many people say no, they remove them and have no issues, after my experiences I would say keep the viscous fan running, it doesnt sap much power and wont make a mess when submerged (anymore than to be expected) but will keep you cool, better too cool than too hot...

I Always remove my fan and have had no issues.

Even pulling a car load all round Wales the other week and a trailer and car load of bits on the hottest day of the year so far.

I've also removed my fan & never had a problem. Just don't sit around on a hot day keep moving, if you do stop turn the engine off.

I think general consensus is do it, I'm gonna keep mine on tho as my fan is right inside the cowling so shouldn't cause a mess...

When we all laning then?

Yeah I'm well up for meeting up as a group sometime might need a little rain first thou ??? Do ya think

Thanks for the info on that. Well had a call from my mate and he reconditioned pump leaks diesel but all is well as they are going to replace it for nothing as its just been reconditioned! So hoping next few weeks she should be back.

Finally my replacement clutch turned up today at last, so hope to get It back in on Thursday(stuck with the ankle bitters til then;)) although I'm hoping I'm going to be able to lift the gear box and tranny back in one without splitting them, as its hanging by a ratchet strap around the tranny and a bar across the seats, and the gearbox end is resting on the middle crossmember.

Chris what's ya plans then for the Galv chassis?

Ive always done it with a engine crane through the door , makes it really easy esp if you remove the tunnel.
