If I remember correctly they were all south of the main forest routes, if you look for kings forest I believe its the trail marked as 'icknield way trail' or it was the one that is west of that going through sharvedell heath...

Dan quite a bit to look at fuel lift pump can cause probs if on way out, fuel filter blocked or even air getting in the fuel system and injectors but to be honest if I where you I'd look at getting 200 Tdi to bolt strait in, when I had my old 2.5n/a lump it was a pig even got beat up a hill by a milk float, best upgrade you can do and doesn't affect ya insurance by a lot either

As Ian says. sounds like a fueling problem start with the filter it the cheapest and dont hurt to change it anyway. then take the outgoing line off the lift pump and manually prime it should get a healthy squirt out each time you pump it and so on....

The problem is fella that for a good year I won't have the spare cash to do such upgrade! Speed isn't my issue just reliability really! It's been sun so could well be the fuel lift pump and it has a new filter in but could have some issue there! Snorkel wouldn't make a difference would it it was a hot day as well

How much for a 200tdi including installation out of interest?

Your going to be looking at £400 for the complete engine, you will need another £100 worth of bits and then I dare say pro installation will be £600-800 through a garage, you can do it yourself and it would be a good learning procedure, a few people round to help e.t.c. and then you will understand your 90 more.

Or I would possibly do a full install for you but I would need to double check everything, I would be around the £800 mark all in I reckon, depends on the engine cost really.

On a side note - I have started an EMM facebook group https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/354619684574504/

so best pat of a grand-1500! Ill put up with it being slow! Cannot warrent that money on a toy that sites outside for 2 weeks at a time

Or look into doing it yourself, keep an eye out and when a 200TDi engine comes up grab it, the rest is fairly easy although I havent done the conversion myself but a few on here have. I have done TDi replacement engines and im not imagining much more difficulty than that...

Not much more to it.
Fit rad, intercooler & wire up. The bloke I did mine with charged £400 with me helping, it will then give you a better idea of what's going on.

makes sense i may have to look into it nearer the time i have the spare cash. thanks for the help guys. I dont want to have to sell her as the bulkhead and Chassis are perfect so its a great basis to start on.
