Anyone interested in a 265/75/16 Insa Desert Track spare? (the BFG Mud pattern) I have 3, 2 on freestyle alloys and one just the tyre. £60 each for the ones on the alloys and £50 just for the tyre. All are virtually as new :)

I ve found vasiline to work better, and keeps it from going hard longer..........seems to sty in place as its not water based and dont get washed away....

Problem with vaseline is its oil based and will eat away at the rubbers, it will take a year or so but it will kill them eventually... it does work better though

Rock and a hard place...... did try KY but found after a few weeks i was appliing it again, I am a lazzy bugger and would rather change rubbers every few years not keep using KY every few weeks....

I always keep a pot in the Landy its also helpfull to thoses that have a V8 lol, once they have dryed out and can restart, also found it good for helping to start fires......

oh of course and for use on sheep in wales, as the rain washes the KY off....lol

na, I did have some Hunters but the straps broke, now i just make sure i wear gloves to grease up so my hands are not slipery for when i grab them.....lol.

could you not use plumbers Silicone Grease? That should be safer to use on rubber and is mean for plumbing so one would hope that its pretty effective at keeping water out....

Our Tesco has them now and then. Costco is still cheaper, paid £55 for 60L the other day.

Trouble is I don't have a costco card, so I just clear the shelf when it's available.

Tempted to try some of the budget food stores (lidl, aldi etc) as I'm always passing them when travelling about for work.

Will Sunflower oil be ok? Never to sure what oil these engines run on.

So many threads on if it's good or not.
In my case it's works fine. Currently at 35% veg but will be putting in 60% veg for the next fill.
but I'm not too worried about long term as I plan to sell or break it in October (when the mot is due).

They will run on almost anything.........try to get the 100% stuff with no additives.

Well almost anything, you've already found out they dont run on water......:D
Snigger

I think a trip to tescos is in order tonight, got that long drive to sailsbury in a few days so any money saved has got to be a bonus...

That series is on a modified Disco chassis as the original was rotten :) Its a pretty awesome toy.

Went out round Braintree/Wethersfield/Sible Headingfield/The Notleys with my mate yesterday and ended up here :D
