I've still got your breather connector here Matthew, I may be able to come to Ipswich in the week and pick up the tube and manifold, unless your out on Wednesday evening.

This weekend was a long one.

Today Mikey made a start on my rock slIders while I removed one of my radius arms.

While waiting for help changing the bushes I thought I would change the engine oil and filter.

Well my mind must have been on something else and I drained the gearbox fluid instead.

Not so funny when as I did not bring any fresh fluid or funnel to refill it.

Thanks to Drizz I got a lift to motormania, and with a bit of ingenuity, a rubber glove and a tie wrap the fluid was changed. The old fluid was a little manky so was glad it got done.

The engine oil and filter is now also changed.

The oil pressure now sits at over 80psi cold and 25-55psi when hot so much better.

After much sweating and swearing Mikey and Chris helped get the old bushes replaced and the one arm was back on by 10.30pm so the other side will have to wait.

Managed to break one of mikes high tensile studding from his bearing pulling set so let me know how much to replace it Mikey and I'll pay for it.

There was no more knock on the way home but will keep an ear out over the next few days, especially Wednesday, and if all good the other arm can wait.

List of jobs before Wales is now.

Dif, transfer box oil changes.
Snorkel
Breathers
Steering guard and diff guards, yet to be brought.
Finishing tree sliders.
Rear brake calipers.

What you get for them if you don't mind me asking?

Chris, If the guy defiantly wants them then I said £550 and he will remove the lot and I don't have to do anything which is nice :D He is going to use them in a challenge truck of his. It has three winches on

Brian, good to hear you're getting on :) I should be about most of this week stripping down landies  Just give me a bell Tuesday or something to make sure. I can give you a hand to fit them if you like.

Refilled my front axle with fresh oil yesterday and then changed the fuel filter.
Also noticed that I had a diesel leak on the coupling before the lift pump. Nipped it up and hopefully I might get an extra MPG :D

Had been slow to start recently, but this morning it was on the button.
I think that veg juice had pulled a lot of **** into the filter. Hopefully I have a nice clean tank now.

Will be doing my fuel filter at the weekend as mine is slightly slower going up hills. Might have something to do with my new fat tyres though  :D

Well got me wading kit fitted to day:) but for the life of me could not find a breather on the fuel tank:confused:tomorrow I'll seal up the snorkel wit the ole tiger seal and I'm ready to go swimming :)

mines back at the doctors :(

shes reeeeallly smoking now, i think its blue annoyingly. I have asked the garage to check all the work they have done after my cam belt catastophe so if that doesnt fix it i can rule out timing/valve clearances etc.

if not looks like ill have to have the head off and redo all the seals and valve grind.

Im just praying it isnt the piston rings gone....

Wangie -

I wouldn't worry about your fuel tank breather, i had exactly the same question so i broached it to Devon 4x4 and they claimed that they didnt bother with the fuel tank breather on their Comp/Challenge trucks so i think we are going to be fairly safe....

On another note, I still cant get my SWF down! new aerial and mount, plus cable from thunderpole, its much better, but still around 2.5 on channel one and 1.8 on channel 40 (and thats with a long whip antenna), is it possible it could be shorting through the transceiver case, then the mount and into the bolt to the roof spar?
