Oh, collected the Disco from Landypart this evening...... Got back to work and found I've got a puncture or something odd. Tyre is half the size it should be

Will take it off tomorrow and have a look and see. Hoping just a sticky valve

Mines alive!!!!
New starter arrived today so stuck that on along with a freshly charged battery and after not being run for 5 weeks it took 1 turn to fire into life.
Pumped up a flat tire and put it straight to work pushing a wheel-less Golf onto my trailer lol.
Also stuck a horn off a merc van on it

Still got a fair few things to do but I hope to get it MOT'd by the end of next week.

Good news mate, glad to hear Tinys on the move agaiin

How was your service at landypart, bit of a pain about the tyre tho hate having punctures.

I got now have been under the Disco, and pumped some grease into the UJ's to night, waint to take the props off and give them a dam good grease, as doing them in situ only tow of the bearing get a good load of grease.

Dropped it off to them yesterday evening and turned up this evening, all sorted. Timing belt, aux belt and air con belt all done. Didn't wash it for me though :-(

They did not wash mine but for £74 and repaired in less then 24hrs it will do me, i would rather not have it washed and pay less for the work that realy needs doing, but yours is way shiner then mine anyway.....

Once the paint is baked then I shall fit it. Nick - you wanna come and do some Landy bashing one day and we can do them both? I have workspace for 2 landies and lots of pies. All tools here.

I'm thinking of painting mine, matt black or blue (match the Disco), but I'm a bit concerned it could look worse after a few trips down the lanes?

As i said , i'll pop along if about and give ya a hand, as i have fitted one already

Sounds good, but I'll probably try and get it done on the drive one evening..... family commitments, if I go off for several hours one evening / weekend then that will be less time available for going laning.

Juggling act!
Work, family life, work, work & work & then at some point, time is found for fixing / playing with the landy:)

Yeah I know that feeling but I can pop along most times, if your interested I got some Black Fablon left, thats what I used, only got one mark on mine, plus it can be recovered when damaged.

Mine can be the experiment then :D

If it gets trashed quickly then Stu can cover it for me..... I hate trying to stick fablon on things without bubbles

Had a day off today so got out the snorkel and spray kit. A few coats of etch primer and then some black stonechip. Letting it air dry now then will bake it and let stand for a week. Hoping it will not get scratched.... but if it does, it will be easily fixable :)

Just need to tidy it up with the die grinder then install the flexi-pipe. Also cleaned out the airbox today. I've now started to sew a sock to go on the ram scoop to stop leafs going in.

Also got some big Land Rover decals to go on the boot side windows.

Lots to do!! And lots done!!

Can't wait for some more offroading though :D

Looking good Matt, theres nowt holding you back with that snorkel, soon have it on.

I got my Dog Guard installed today, and looking good, Now got me 2kg Fire Extignusher mounted on it rather then rolling about, would like to mount my High Lift jack on it but I think that may be too hevey, lol. will just have to get a bracket for it to go on the Roof Rails.

Good job there Matt.
I part fitted mine over the weekend. Hole cut, tube fixed to pillar. I was going to finish it one evening, but that painted finish looks really good.

Now thinking I might need to copy before I adhere the flex pipe to the stainless pipe

Be careful you don't scratch it when doing the clamp up. Its a bit of a git to do on your own. I ended up holding the clamp shut with pilers and then cable tying it to keep it there whilst I did the allan nuts up.

BTW
Thursday evening is off for me:eek:
My wife is out. But with the lighter evenings I may do a few jobs on the landy.

I have got a few bits of rubber to lay inside the clamp between it and the pipe and will hold it shut with a pair of rubber nosed mole grips until I've done the nuts up.

Already thought about that lol! I also sprayed another bit of stainless steel I had laying around.... the paint is rock solid already. Dragged it across the tarmac and only some surface marks :D

If you want to spray yours, you should be able to buy etch primer in a can and then I used black stoneschip as a top coat - sets rock solid. I had some etch primer in a tin for the compressor left from another project so the whole spray job cost me £6 for the stonechip :)

The slight bobbled effect looks like textured powder coating. I'm pleased with it! Now I've got to find other bits to spray black :D

Back from a few days away with work, lovely hotel. I'll take my tent next time.
But I did get to meet my new MD who is has started the expected restructuring of the sales force :mil7: luckily not at my level, yet...... but **** goes in one direction and I'm on the next tier down.

Anyway Landy still down the garage. They wanted the go ahead to to do a few jobs and I had left my personal mobile at home
Hopefully back tomorrow or Friday.

Stu, your welcome to pop over Thursday evening. I might have the Landy back if not can just have a catch up. BTW I have a manifold for you and once I've finished my breather kit I should have a good few metres of black 8mm tube going spare.

For anyone that doesn't know I have a 300tdi in for breaking.
Manual in dark green with tan fabric interior.
Best to call me or pop up if you need any bits. Pictures on facebook, under Christopher Copping.
