It will kill the auto box and is not correct for the transfer box, both need Dexron 3.

I'm thinking the motor thinks it's in high but the box is in low. So if I switch the motor to low whilst off the box I can refit and the two will both be singing each other's sweet songs?The motor has to be in a position that matches the tranny box.
I've not been there myself but there are a few more experienced bods that can clarify better than myself
You have also to have it timed to the electrical contacts. The details will be in RAVE the workshop manual.

If it is still there, you may be able to download RAVE from the technical archive. There are a set of electrical contacts with the motor that tells the electronics the position of the motor, hi, lo or neutral.
Aha. I am a complete buffoon when it comes to these things. I'll download it and see if I can decipher anything.
