Engine swap ideas wanted

Hi, the engine in my late series 2a practically a series 3 109 sw is beyond fixing.
I've been trying to find a decent 200/300ti unit but there's nothing any good that's within reasonable distance.
Has anyone got any suggestions to other alternative engines that are readily available and are reasonably easy fits? As much as I love my 4 gear levers (farley od) I would consider replacing the gearbox if necessary for alternative set up. I don need a race car but wouldn't mind being able to go up a hill or to.

V8 petroleum or do wanna go Diesel?

montego td but getting rare, few kits around, speak to steve parker or look at site, they know their conversions and are very helpful

You are not helping yourself.... You make a first post with no introduction,and no indication at all of where in the world you are.Doing an engine conversion to a reasonable and reliable standard is a fair undertaking,ie - do what you can to get it right first time.So,if you are somewhere in the UK it may be worth travelling some distance to pick up a 200/300TDI unit.If you are in Australia,USA or Poland it may be a better idea to go for something else....
