Hi folks,
Thanks for your help with another thread I am running about my starter motor.
Now I've got the beast running its a little lumpy. Its not a backfire I think or anything like that, it just 'phuts' a couple of times a second or so and you can feel it in the vibrations.
Which I guess is to be expected as it sat in a field for 6 months. However before it sat in the field it ran like a dream, smooth and quiet. And I want to get it back to that.
So is there like a '101' on how to setup the engine properly and in what sequence to do it? I'm a full novice but I can follow guidance. I've replaced starter motor, battery, starter solenoid, petrol, oil, HT and spark plugs but points, timing, distributer, carb setup capacitor and all that stuff I don't really know where to begin.
Is there a sensible order of things, and what do I need to check / set in a recommissioning???
Guidance appreciated!
