engine noise

first buy a new pully then you need to lock the fly wheel, then i dropped the engin on the drivers side take the belt of the bottom pully , then undo the nut , then take it off, the hardest part is locking the crank you can get the bar that locks the flywheel , you take the starter motor off and then put the bar on , one bolt to the gearbox case and the other to the flywheel . but i made a "special" tool that holds the pully wheel while you just put the socket on and undo the nut , and it will be tight. i leant the special tool out to another freelander owner , now he can not find it to give it me back
Thanks for that , my son bought a KIA :eek: with a worn crankshaft pulley , that had knocked the crankshaft out of kilter , and he had to get a new crankshaft fitted , but that was a design fault , however i will check out my pulley for peace of mind !
