I will try it but the last time I started the engine there was no delay.

I did this until it got so bad it was more or less dangerous.
On advice from on here I checked live data, and it turned out to be the IAT sensor.
Relaced with a new Bosch one.
Problem solved.

And cleaning it did no good at all!

Engine stalling, rough idling, engine stumbling, and random surges of power are commonly associated with IAT sensor failure. (Air intake sensor)

i have a 2003 disco 2 td5 with the same symptoms Filters all changed still a problem until i disconnected the sensors Can this do damage or is there something i am missing i have cleaned the sensors with a compressor and no change. The car just stops with the engine still running and after I switch off and on again it works HELP

Cleaning a sensor that is not working properly may well not fix it.
Live data should show which ones are not working properly and allow you to replace them.
