Engine gone on 2003 TD5

I have had a lot of support of this forum with my 2003 TD5 nightmare purchase. Won't bore you with all the details and money spent todate. However the engine has gone metal squeeling / rubbing sound on turnover.

I need a new engine as not prepared to let the car go for scrap. Can anyone recommend any places. What I don't want to happen is to spend money on an engine and fitting to find out it is also on its way out.

Any advise on best way forward would be appreciated. I believe it is the 15p. Engine auto that I need. I was also previously told that the turbo had play so that would need replacing at some point. I may as well get that done at the same time?

if it runs ok then id be looking at starter ,ring gear/drive plate etc, a buggered engine would sound worse with load running

It deffo engine, oil light was on then cut out. Haven't tried starting again as sounded terrible trying to turnover.

ok,another engine is required

get another disco ,keep yours for spare parts ,it will be less painful and probably cheaper
