Hi Peeps
I just left my landy on side of the road :-( due to engine stopping as if no fuel getting to it.
when i started it up (TD5 auto 2003) if was a bit smokey but also sluggish, after a little idling and then throttle it seemed ok, pulled away but about 2000 yards up road it conked out.
This lovely man called Nigel happened to be walking past and said it sounded odd when I passed him, turns out he also has a disco 2.
so he went and got a wrench so we could check fuel filter, it was full and didnt seem to be full of ****e, tried fuel pump with filter off and there was only a slight dripping of fuel, the pump is making its whirling noise as usual but seems to be intermittent, engine turns over fine but not firing up.
Nigel said he had had a similar problem caused by the key fob receiver on the roof between sun roofs failing and his cut out and wouldn't start.
now i wonder if some crap is blocking the fuel tank outlet to filter or maybe its the pimp itself.
have checked fuses and swapped fuel pump relay over the screen wash one and still nothing except screen wash still works so relay is ok.
I have been in contact with neilley (thanks Neil) from here via text and tried what he suggested, the weird thing is that as well as this happening the fuel filler flap has stopped opening too, so cant fill up even if i want to, its fuse seems ok but I remember when i filled up the last two times i had to press the button a couple of times to open it.
i dont have access to a nanocom or hawkeye either, no dash lights showed up when it happened.
any suggestions apart from setting it on fire / selling to a 7 year old or just leaving there to rot away as we only just done the bloody chassis. at least it broke down half a mile from my boat and in other direction half a mile from my yard/.
Help
