Engine breather

The series 3 petrol I bought 6 months ago has had the oil bath filter removed and had a filter fitted direct to the carb.
After total power loss while driving then engine stopping I removed breather head I found it was very clogged with mayonnaise. Could this cause the problem or should I look at something else.

if theres mayonaise there itll almost certainly be head gasket failiure
