I'm looking to blank off my EGR valve and whilst having a pre-start mooch around the engine bay spotted three things if anyone could oblidge by naming them please?

On the drivers side wing is this very small sort of filter looking thing but it doesn't have a pipe connected to the other end. Can anyone confirm what it is please?

Next to it is a plug that appears to have three connections missing - two spades are clearly unused at the minute and the left hand one has a connector but no wire attached??

Lastly and I doubt anyone can help but any idea what this unconnected lead might be doing???

Thanks in advance

It's defo a tD5 and on its original engine so no engine swap ?

Maybe I'll pull the one remaining wire from the relay and see what doesn't work anymore? Actually thinking about it the car has some lights in the front bumper which maybe this runs?

Looks like there have been some accessories that are no longer on the car. The blue wire on the relay looks like it goes behind the relay and is attached to the crosshead screw just above. Though anything could happen when it is out of sight I suppose. Looks like someone has taken everything else off. The small plastic vessel looks like it belongs to a fuel-fired heater as someone has said above.

Seems to me they're all redundant and could come off if you want to reduce engine bay clutter.

Agree with that sentiment!

The relay looks easy enough to just remove and that's done.

The filter I'll trace back and make sure it's blanked off somewhere as don't want a leak......

The power lead I will see if I can trace as suspect it ends up in the dashboard somewhere? If that's the case I'm tempted to just seal the connector in the engine bay to make it water tight and leave it?

Looks like the remains of a webasto or propex cabin or engine pre heater, had on on my camper......
