In the boot, there is a small rectangular plastic cover on the fuel side, remove this and you may find a string velcro'd to it, if not the string should be laying in there somewhere, pull to release flap. It's in the owners manual.
I hope its expensive looking string.
Cheap looking string just wouldn't do on a Range Rover!!!
A pink one:bounce:Oh?? do the Vogue have Ribbon?
You can repair the fuel release button, I had the same problem as you. You will find the bottom of the switch has 'fallen' out!!! Just push it back in and super glue. I did this then ran PU (polyurathane) sealent around the join. Been ok since.
