Hi folks, first time posting, embarrassed because I joined LZ when I bought my 2004 TD5 Discovery a year past April but havn't been here since.
I live in Crieff in the heart of beautiful Perthshire and bought my car as a toy come tow vehicle to take my tractor to vintage ploughing matches.
After losing my company car last November, my Disco has been a daily driver since and been faultless save for a rear wiper motor which was replaced for £20.
Now the embarrassing bit, with 140,000 miles on the clock she has recently developed a problem starting, whereby instead of springing into life as usual she seems as if she only just coughs into life and after about 2 or 3 secs decides to step up to a proper idle, along with this yesterday she missfired on my way to work and at times also lacked power.
It has been suggested to me it may be caused by a leaking Fuel Pressure Regulator. Any thoughts?
Cheers, Ali.

Welcome to LZ, Alistair! :)

Not posting on LZ isn't something to be embarrassed about. It could be seen as a sign that you are a well adjusted human being with a life! ;):D

I would try posting about that in the Discovery section!

Hi Ali,
Quickest and easiest thing to check regarding poor starting/misfires is oil ingress into the red plug on ECU.
Search 'td5 injector loom' room for more info and as Turboman says, pop a post in the discovery section
Cheers, Tom
