Just recently my O2 TD5 has started making intermittent warning bongs. sometimes coinciding with the radio turning off. The battery at rest is ~ 12.3 volts. ~This drops to 12v when theignition is switched on & the fuel pump is charging. The voltage shown by a cigar lighter port plugin varies from ~12v at rest down to 10v when the ignition is switched on. When the engine is started the voltage at the battery is a constant 14.8volts. At the same time the cigar port voltage rises to 13 > 13.4 volts When out on a run the cigat port voltage fluctuates from 13 down to 10 volts, especially when wipers, lights etc are turned on.
The consistent 14.8 volts suggests that the alternator is ok, but there's 1 or more poor connections somewhere. The diode pack was replaced a year ago.
Advice please.

So you have the answer, the next step is to find it and that's the real challenge cos it can't be guessed, troubleshooting is needed... a common place is a big spade connector which is beneath the engine bay fusebox and connects a wire to the interior one, not there on all modells, you can start by unplugging the fuseboxes and check for corrosion in the plugs + give them contact spray

Thanks -I had the top off the engine fuseboard today & lifted it. Is this the connecction to the interior board?\If so how is it separated?
