Electrics have gone weird after changing the battery

Hi all,

I've just changed the battery on my 300tdi after the old one gaveup the ghost.

After changing it, the car started up straight away BUT

The windscreen wipers are permanently on
The glow plug light doesn't turn off
The indicators turn on but don't flash
The headlamps don't turn on (but the instrument lights and rear lights do)
The blower doesn't turn on
The radio doesn't turn on
Nothing on the raptor dash turns on.

That's all I've noticed initially but there are probably more faults lurking.

I've checked all the big fuses in the engine bay and all the small fuses in the cabin and none are toast.

Could I have fried the relays or is it something else like a bad earth?

Anybody had anything similar?

Any help would be great.

+1 for a bad earth

as said earths don't forget battery to chassis earths

Of course you have already checked that the battery is correctly connected..... If so, earth connections are next!

Did you connect it the wrong way initially?

Check the battery leads aren't damaged, internal corrosion/breakage etc

earths all the way as said also I know you said you changed it, but was it you and not the RAC etc

Have you attached an earth to the positive side on the battery?
