Hi, Please help!

Just been cleaning my 1002 TD4 freelander but accidentally left the ignition on with radio playing and O/S front window open.
After about 10 mins the radio went off and now when I switch the ignition on the dash warning lights all flash, and the engine won't turn over. Can't now close the window!!!!
Locks work fine but rear window had dropped. Put this up with the key.
Disconnected the battery for 10mins but still the same.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Martin

Battery voltage has probably dropped very low. Recharge for a couple of hours or use jump-leads to start engine.Re-calibrate rear window by holding centre console switch in up position for a couple of seconds after rear window has actually closed fully. Battery is probably suspect.

Er, yes, your battery should give more than 10 mins of radio use without discharging unless it's very F cold in your neck of the woods. If not, it sounds like it's shagged.

Just recharge it for now, and it'll probably be OK until the temperature plummets to a more seasonable below zero... Won't be long until you have to get a new one :)

Did LR really make Freelanders in the year 1002? I thought the vehicle of choice for Saxons was the horse??

Thank you, both of you were spot on!

Battery flat as both heated seat switches were on!!!! I would have thought there would be a user sensitive switch in the seat itself but obviously not.

Now charged up and all is well. Though battery is probably passed its best.

Lesson learned and thanks for you quick responses.

Martin
