electrical gremlins

Hi there
New to land rovers and this site, but have a 1986 90 2.5 na diesel. It has a couple of interesting electical 'features'.

1. lights, when i turn the lights on sometines they all work, sometimes the LH headlamp and not the RH, sometimes the tail/sidelights sometimes not.
I did manage to get them all to come on by giving the fuse box lid a big thump!

2. The fuel gauge and temp gauge don't always work.

3. The brake warning light sometimes flickers, sometimes not, the reservoir is full etc.

Is there a wiring diagram that anyone can send me???

I love the old thing, it is great off road and yesterday it towed my 11 tone boat up a muddy slope on it's trailer no problem.

thief! You thieved me name!

Sounds to me like you got some poor connections throughout - take the time to go around waggling and see what makes things come on and off.

Also check the little rubber button in the brake fluid reservoir aint popped in - pop it out if it is.

I found the problem with the lights, the fuse holders needed a clean, all working now.
