Electrical faults getting worse

Sorry to bother you all but I'm stuck as to what to do with my 1987 ex mod 110 2.5na, the story started with the loss of passengers side dipped beam so pulled it apart and couldn't see anything wrong, then after a few more days I lost indicators intermittent fault to start but now completely stopped working and then last night I lost back lights and brake lights. If anyone could advise me where to start looking I would really appreciate it.

Being ex-military has yours got one of them mayhoosive multi position light switches or just a normal one? Also have you used a multi meter across the fuses and main beam/bulb holder to check for power
 
Hi, yes it has got one of those big switches in the middle of the dash, I've tried wiggling it back and forth with no joy. I dont have a multi meter and wouldn't know how to use one I'm afraid im not very good when it comes to electrics
 
For now, try removing all them fuses and cleaning the fuse ends and the fusebox contacts with wire wool, emery paper etc.
You want everything nice and bright and shiny!
 
This all started when I serviced it and had to wiggle out the airfilter which got stuck so don't know if damaged some wiring, I did have a good look and couldn't see anything
 
Ahhh, there's an earth lead for the lights in that area , forgot exactly where but you'll need a torch to see better iirc, try to look at the back of the headlamp area from under the bonnet.
 
Also check all the connections as that's where the whilst you're there as obviously the head light connections are down there to. Have you tried the convoy switch in all it's different positions by the way?
 
Hi all, when I got home this evening it was dark so couldn't do much so decided to just take cover off fuse box and had a little wiggle of fuses and hay presto everything lit up including my dipped beam so I'm guessing dirty contacts maybe? I will take each fuse out and clean them tomorrow is it worth spraying them with some kind of lubricant? Thank you for all your help so far I do really appreciate it.
 
Spray them with electrical cleaner, but please disconnect the battery first ... better still clean the fuse holders properly, get all that green gunge off ...use a pencil eraser, (cut to fit), or a wooden matchstick type thingy, if it's really bad use a toothbrush ... take your time and make notes and photos, you will at least be able to put it back in place ...

That spray looks good hoping they sell it in halfords. I will take my time and take photos as the fuse diagram on the box is terrible and doesn't seem to match up with the fuses that are installed
