Hi everyone again, is it easy to fix a broken cable that winds my drivers window down? The bloody thing has just dropped into the door! Cheers kass.

You can get the cable kits of ebay for about £15 , It was the plastic bits that broke on mine that caused the cable to fail !
Kit if you have time to fiddle about ( in the cold ) or get the compleat unit for ease ?

I bought a replacement cable kit and whilst it is fiddly, it works a treat. Make sure that the kit has the two guides that clip either end of the slider rail as one of the originals had broken on mine. Also grease the new cable before fitting and if the nylon spool is difficult to fit due to the cable being tight, push the two green spring loaded guide tubes in against the spring pressure and secure them in position with small vice grips..it will give you a bit more slack on the cable to get the spool located and the motor fitted-then release the vice grips.
The hardest part of the job was sussing out the orientation of the regulator assembly in order to physically get it out of the aperture in the door-believe me, it will come out. Bit like when you had one of those chinese wire puzzles as a kid !!
This is the one I bought, it was well made.
I would not buy one of those cable kits where you get a length of Stainless cable and have to glue the nipples on yourself.
