Just been watching old limp pricks. Not talking about EGR, MAFs, extra air or dump valves anymore i claim the fifth amendment.

Surprised you continued - the amount of times this argumement has been had on here I thought you would have told everyone to just search for it - it has been going round and round for a while now...hence why I was sitting here eating me popcorn, sharing it with anyone who wants some....

Best leave it to rest now - the search function will suffice!!

It's bollocks Ant. EGR fitted to a diesel creates more harmful **** than it stops. And reduces the engines fuel efficiency. Specially as fitted to the P38 with just a cat. A particle filter would help but they have large drawbacks. Driving around towns and cities at low speeds. Where the EGR is used most. The cat never gets hot enough to do anything and all the particle filter does is get clogged up. Driving around towns with just a cat fitted and EGR working is pushing out loads of soot and particles just where you don't want them. Only in extended high speed use does the cat get hot enough to work and the particle filter if fitted get hot enough to burn off the soot it has collected. Generally a pretty bad idea.
