Egr removal help

Hi
I am trying to remove my egr on a 300tdi but can't get the Allen bolts loose tried with a ratchet and Allen and can't get them to move at all any help really appreciated

Have you given them a good soaking with a good penetrating oil - (NOT WD40)?

as above, a decent penetrating oil and if that doesn't work a couple of sharp taps with the hammer should see them free'd up

No I have only tried wd40 what would you suggest the oil doesn't seem to be getting into the bolt just running down the side

Double TT, 3-in-1 or GT 85 ...

failing those, (it does happen), brake fluid - used sparingly - will loosen items

You have to soak the item well and leave, have a cuppa, then have another go ...

and as has been said a sharp tap will work ...

Also even when they do start to move they can seize and shear at any point. Ease them out slowly using the half turn forward-quarter turn back method. And giving odd squirts of penetrating oil as you go.

Ha ha, yeah - same as exhaust / manifold bolts / studs ...

Thanks for the advice I have some 3 in 1 so will give that a bash at some point fingers crossed dont break them
