So on my newly bought 1999 TD5 D2 I already have a problem. It started a few weeks ago and the engine wouldnt turn over. found out it was oil in the ecu. cleaned it out and it started again. Then last week it happened again, but it still wouldn't start. Mechanic down the road used his hawkeye to see that all 5 injectors weren't working. he said it was unusual so we took the rocker case off and they were all covered in oil and the injector loom looked like it had been bodged together previously. So in goes a new loom and still nothing working. I have checked the wiring from the injector loom to the ecu and 3 of the injector wires don't have any continuity. How do I go about replacing the wires that aren't working? I would rather replace all 5 wires just to be on the safe side and does anyone know where I can buy a C0171 connector to replace that aswell?
 
I am no expert and I am sure someone will be along shortly. I did fit a new crank sensor cable which came with its own pins for the red plug. I just took out the old pins and replaced with the new ones. If you can get hold of pins for the red plug then just attach wires to these. I am not sure about the connector that attaches to the injector harness - whether those pins can be removed.

I was hoping that there would be something similar for the injectors but there doesn't seem to be

Thanks for the info, thats half the job

Does anyone know what type of pins go into the other end that connects to the injector loom?

got quote so if anyone is looking to replace this connector may be better discounted if several are ordered collectively

I will not purchase one as they are not a 1957 series one Land Rover part
 
Thank you @mystery I have been looking for this for ages. Have two harnesses to repair.
Don't use sealant on the Plug. it always ends up somewhere in the finer oil conducts of your engine. Remember to change the injector harness at least every two years, use an OEM one and place the O rings carefully.

NOW.

place the whole loom above your EGR replacement pipe, if not done cut of everything that once was connected to that nuisance. That way oil will never end up in your ECU again. At the occasion, I usually also place most cable further outside towars the wing to keep them out of harm's way.
