Yes, good point. My intital thought was to plumb in the diesel heater to work as a de mister, I don’t think it will do that job very well! My Rover doesn’t have any heater fittings or piping from the engine etc. a heated screen solves the vision problems and the diesel heater will do what it was designed for, heating the cab....
I think it could work if the diesel heater was fitted in the engine bay, positioned behind the heater matrix hole then piped through to the screen. The slow air flow would be more than made up for by the massive heat output but what a bleedin faff. It could also crack the glass on a very cold day.

Keep us posted on the screen replacement. I’d be interested how it goes.
 
I got a rear door heated window from paddocks and the element is just glued to the glass very easy to damage , not very efficient either.
 
See post #8 with website for screens. You need to wire both sides for series motors. It does mean you can have only 1 side on if needed ;)

It worries me there isnt any close up photos of the product. Or indeed any photos. Do they look like a war time taped window pane. :eek:
For that kind of cash Id hope you could hardly see the element.
