Ebay Bargain or Rip off?

Theres always 'bargains'like this. Who in their right mind would sell an 04 landy for £4350 on a buy it now. They will want a deposit before you even see it then you wont see the landy or your money again.

it'll be pulled before the end if it goes no higher
I've just emailed the @msn address asking why the ebay buy it now option isnt there. I am tempted to go through with this, obvioulsy being very carefull, some people just either have too much money or they don't know the value of things - lets hope the seller is either of those.

But Cornwall is a long way away ........ and ebay bargins do exist, i got a set of 4 Avon Rangemasters + rims for a quid last week with less than 100 miles on them, but it did cost me well over £20 in veg oil to go fetch them.

The following is the response i received when i emailed the address on the ebay page asking for more info.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting me about my car.
The car is in perfect conditions, no flaws or dents, no scratches or any kind of damage, no engine problems. The interior is in like new condition and has never been smoked in. The car is still UK registered so you will not have to pay any custom taxes.

The problem is that I had to move in Spain because I have my origins here and I had no reason to stay in UK after I lost my husband…Chris. It was his car... as you can imagine it means a lot for me. I brought the car here with me with the intention of driving it but when I found out about the very high import duties and all the restrictions regarding registration and emissions tests here I've changed my mind. Also I am not sure I can register an UK supply-Right Hand Drive car here....So I'm practically forced to sell the car. I want to sell it in UK because is still registered there.

The price is £ 4350, shipping included.
I want to take this opportunity to assure you that this deal is 100% legitimate; the financial part of this deal will be managed by eBay, in this way both of us will be protected.
They will keep the payment until you receive the item and test it.
So if you really want it please email me as soon as possible to start the transaction

Thank you,
Victoria Strike

the problem lies with the phrase "this vehicle is advertised elsewhere so reserve the right to end this auction early" Basically, the lister can put a damn low price on it, trying for interest. Then if it doesn't get what he / she wants, just pull it at the last min. Not against the rules, but not nice either.

Had a similar thing myself when I sold the astravan. Had bids on it, lower than I liked, but would have let it go for the price agreed. Then someone rang me up and had seen me driving the van about with the number in the back. Did a deal there and then for just under asking price, cash there and then. Had to pull the ebay. A bird in the hand and all that
