It will be one of the Chinese ones then, they are waiting for the Dunlop ones. The Chinese one I had was wobbly on the shaft. I poured epoxy metal to tighten it up, seems sound now. The Dunlop one from Paddocks is a lot smoother and the shaft is tight. I guess you pays yer money and takes your chance, so far it is working. When the Dunlop ones come back in stock I will replace the Chinese one.

As I mentioned I made sure the rod was squared to the shaft and poured metal epoxy in the gap, sound as a pound now. I am not sure if the looseness would cause an issue but I thought I would make sure. If you do it make sure to make a shield to fit between the sensor body and the link to stop any epoxy getting into the sensor.

pmsl :D;):D- i have seen a few where they have pinned the lever on the wrong way round and all sorts . Thing is eventually they will all be from China as the suppliers here probably will not make such small volumes of them - not cost effective

I have not had a problem with Chinese ones from Ali Express. You do realise that Dunlop is just a brand name and that the sensor is almost certainly still made in China but the price is inflated for the name.
 
Fully agree Keith, I thing everything is being made there, but as mentioned, it all depends on the garden shed it is coming from and the sledge hammer being used. The quality of the Chinese and the one "marked" Dunlop were worlds apart. The Chinese one gave a fault when I put it on the right hand rear but is working ok on the left. The "Dunlop" one was fine, there are quite a few supposed aftermarket versions out there, I guess it could be the luck of the draw as to which one you get. I cant say I have ever used Ali Express but they seem to have a long delivery and I needed replacements quickly. I might give them a shot for the fronts.
 
Well it didnae work.
Was all set up yesterday but when I went out today, all was fine but when she dropped to motorway height, the new sensor dropped to the bump stop.
No fault registered.
Connected nanocom and that sensor was reading rubbish again.
The car thought she was too high and dropped that sensor to bump stop but still reading above high.
Going to gave to put Schraeder valves on again as I need her this week.
Looks like a bum sensor tho

I am assuming you have cleaned up and checked the plug terminals and the large connector on the EAS ECU? Sounds like it could be a connection issue
 
I checked the plug under the passemger seat.
There are three "black boxes" 2 at the front with long multiplugs and one at rear with a thicker multiplug
I cleaned the two at the front but not the one at the back.
Still the same so she is on Schraeder valves.
I think I may have to cut out and solder the plug at the back wheel

Top one is gearbox ECU and the bottom is the EAS ECU. Try doing a continuity test from the sensor plug to the ECU multiplug. A long piece of wire and a multimeter.
 
Well the saga continues
She was on Scraeder valves as I needed her
On way back, coming thru Glasgow theat air bag dropped to bump stop and wont inflate above 50psi
No idea yet what the trouble is as she has a fairly new Janspeed exhaust so unlikely to be the air line
So reckon air bag gone even tho only about 40k on them.
Got Covid now so may take a few days to check things out
