Hi
My old laptop has given up and a friend transfered everything off my hardrive onto sticks but i dont seem to have the Eas software on them, can someone send me a link so i can download it again.....Thank You.

As a last resort, I can supply it on CD. Or post me a memory stick and I will put the software on it and send it back.

Thanks everyone I have manage to download the software.
My problem now is that it's not initialising. I've got down the comm's menu and clicked one everyone...... ????

Can you open the EAS software? Clic on OK in the "failure to initialise" panel then you have to go to the top left "EAS Setup" and click to get the pull down menu, select "comms" and then select "Comm #4 which is the one that usually works if you are using a USB the serial adaptor.

Yes using USB adaptor......I've click on every comm from 1 to 12....doesnt even try to contact.... just an instant window saying 'failed on this comm'.
Is there certain software depending on which windows is on the laptop.
Its my partners and quite old old one so not sure whats windows is on it.

Did you load the software drivers before plugin in the usb adapter if you did not that will throw it out.

As above, if you plugged in the adaptor before loading the software driver, Windows will use a generic driver that will not work.

I have a CD with EAS Software on it and I'm just up the road from you near Beverley. Get in touch if you want to meet up.

He has the EAS software running, just no comms, proably due to the driver for the USB to serial adaptor not being loaded before the adaptor was plugged in.

If it's not initialising, wouldn't it be at least worth trying a fresh installation?

Unlikely, the software is running. it just cannot find a working comms port and that is almost always a driver/adaptor problem.
A different USB port after installing the drive might help, otherwise it's into the system to delete the incorrect driver and then install the correct driver.

Thanks everyone was busy yesterday Christmas duties....
I will try everything suggested tonight after work.
Only one usb port on this laptop, i think i had the cable plugged in the car and laptop then opened the software.
No different when using my old laptop. On my lap i could find which comms port each usb was using. Cant find this info on my partners laptop.

What version of Windows?

EASunlock has to have Windows net framework on the computer or it will not work. Also as stated by others the serial to USB adaptor driver MUST be installed before EASunlock is connected to the computer.

The software loads and opens, so he must have NetFramework.
