Spoke to soon, went out this morning offside rear is sitting on the bump stops. I already suspected this by the way it was adjusting but from sitting in the driver seat it was difficult to tell whether the front was dropping our back coming up.
Your revised thoughts.

Just one corner? Have you pulled the EAS relay out? I would have thought it would equalise all around unless it is a big leak. If you haven't pulled it out, try pulling it out. Big rectangular thing on seperate under the passenger seat by the EAS computer. With it out the car won't self level. If you've got an emergency inflator kit (or the car is lucky enough to still be up in the air) then wait and see if any particular corner drops.
How old are the airbags? Datatek reckons they last about 7 or 8 years before they need replacing.
If you take the compressor out you can connect it to a battery. From memory the black wire has a pin all its own which goes to earth. Ignore the orange pin and connect the postive to the green wire. The outlet from the compressor is a brass nut where the blue line went in. It should blow your finger clean off.
If the pump doesn't run it is probably a duff thermal switch. Check Wammers How To guide on checking the continuity on the orange wire!
How are the quotes coming on?!
